Private Label Rights (PLR) - How You Can Monetize It
What are Private Label Rights (PLR)? These are rights that a person gains to a particular product, which I have explained a couple of times in my previous posts. One might wonder at the difference between Private Label Rights (PLR) and product Resell Rights. With product Resell Rights, a person obtains the right to resell the product as it is, without altering its form, design or name.
On the other hand, if you have a Private Label Right (PLR) to a particular product, you would gain the right to alter or modify an original product. You may create your own specifications, apply modifications and then claim it as your own original product.
eBooks, software, graphical files, articles and other written, raw material are just some examples of products where you can obtain Private Label Rights (PLR).
Take an eBook as an example. If an author of an ebook would give you Private Label Rights (PLR) about 'Astrology' or 'Photography', you can modify and change the content to include the latest developments or trends. For example, in Astrology, you may change the content relating to 'Forecast For The Year' to reflect a more accurate yearly prediction though the general characteristics of the various horoscope signs may not change at all. As for Photography, you may modify some of the contents to update and reflect the latest models in 'Digital And Film Cameras' or add your actual hands-on experience and expertise in 'Street Photography'.
You can add features and create additional topics or sub-topics that would best fit the current trends and developments. After the modifications, you can claim rights to the ebook that you have modified.
The idea or the product may have been bought or copied, but you get to have the rights to resell the 'new' product resulting from the one that was modified.

New Product Vs Private Label Rights Product
- New Product
We have been taught in business course to develop or invent an original product which we will then sell to a particular market. We have also learned that an original design with good features and functionalities will pave the way towards introducing a great new invention in the market.
However, developing and manufacturing your own product can be quite a tedious process. It involves much time, effort, money and commitment.
The good thing is that once you have a new invention and an output, you can profit from your original product by several ways.
First, you can sell the rights for business owners to resell your products without any modifications whatsoever.
You can also build a website for your product and advertise it in search engines or other related websites.
You can join affiliate networks and recruit affiliates to sell your product. You only pay them when a sale is successfully completed.
Once you find that your product is no more at par with the current trend and it does not meet the consumer's needs, you can modify it and resell it again. The possibilities are endless once you have developed a product of your own. - Private Label Rights (PLR) Product
Now, let us take a look at the advantages of a modified product as a result of gaining Private Label Rights (PLR).
First, this is the easiest and fastest way to build a business if you do not have the time to develop your own original product. Gaining Private Label Rights (PLR) would automatically give you the rights to modify an original product content without having to worry about infringements on intellectual property rights or copyrights.
This principle applies mostly to written material such as ebooks, articles and even source codes.
You can use your creativity to change and modify an existing product and make it your own. If you put together ten articles about a common niche, modify them a bit to come up with one basic idea, you would have a resulting product which is more comprehensive than the original material.
You can also use an original material or text and use the Private Label Rights (PLR) that you have obtained to develop a niche website about the same topic.
There are many possibilities about how you can increase your earnings with the use of Private Label Rights (PLR). This area of Internet Marketing shows such potential that many online businesses are grabbing the opportunity.
The most important thing for you to do is to find the right material with good quality and you can have an instant product to work with. Just change the graphics, modify and add some relevant texts and you are good to go.
The great thing about this is that you can re-package the material or content and present them to buyers in any way that you desire. Additionally, you get the glory of the by-line since you can mention or put your name on the printed or electronic material because the product is yours to claim now.
With some creativity, resourcefulness, time and effort, you can earn extra dollars by using Private Label Rights (PLR) to come up with your original products that you can distribute and sell to your target market.
